“Anthropology” is the first single from my new project, which I’ve been working on for the past few months with Jan Smoczyński. The idea behind the project is to record guitar notes and chords one by one, then use a DAW to arrange complex guitar parts from those notes — parts that wouldn’t be possible to perform live.
Arranging music for guitar without any technical limitations (speed, interval choice, articulation) was very exciting and inspiring. The challenge was to create something that actually has artistic value.
Every track is a cover of a popular song or jazz standard. Each one follows a different arranging/production concept and features a different guest artist. I’ll start by releasing a few singles, and eventually all the tracks will come out together as an EP.
